Children in TaeKwon-Do

Children are very important in our society, and they should be, for they are our future and our hopes. What better way to help protect what we cherish than to help children protect themselves. At the KMAI, we offer a broad array of classes. Some are geared specifically with children in mind. Attention span and focus are two of the sometimes overlooked positive points strengthened while taking TaeKwon-Do classes. If you have any questions concerning your child, please ask one the instructors. With a full staff of certified instructors, the KMAI's responsibility is to provide positive role models for the children. Being future leaders and followers, these children are our most valuable resource. To remind each of the young students of the principles we hold important each class begins and ends with a recitation of the tenets of TaeKwon-Do (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit). Following the opening of class, the students proceed through the warm-up and fun drills to prepare for their TaeKwon-Do training. An attitude of respect and cooperation is encouraged throughout each class. Young people are often reminded of socializing skills and proper etiquette that should permeate the classroom, playground and even the home. As a physical activity, this martial art has long demonstrated itself to be a great method of sharpening reflexes, agility, balance and self-control. Improved health, whether it be physical and/or mental, is a welcomed by-product of this type of physical activity.
