"I have always been interested in martial arts. Ever since the third grade, when classmates would practice their Judo techniques on me... I quickly became fascinated with those arts. Many years later my family and I finally began training in TaeKwon-Do. At the black belt level, I began to teach a small group of devoted students from our area in the basement of our home. This was in 1975. Very soon the room became too full; the activity spilled over into the garage as well. But it was still not enough. In 1986, with the help of my husband and sons, a parcel of property was purchased and the decrepit building we gained was renovated. Students also were glad to help whenever I asked - in fact, most volunteered. However two years later we concluded that even more space was needed. The final phase of the KMAI building was to accomodate as many as 180 students, adding 4,000 square feet to the already existing structure. My dream as unfolded..."
