- (A) are 12 years of age or older, or
- (B) attend WITH a parent.
Private Classes are available and are an important tool in helping students who have missed classes or who want to improve their skills. Times must be arranged with individual instructors and their hourly rates are posted at both entrances.
Class Cancellation: If the Lapeer County Schools are closed for morning classes due to bad weather and/or roads, the KMAI morning classes will be cancelled also. If the Lapeer County Schools evening activities (sports, enrichment classes, etc.) are cancelled due to bad weather and/or roads, the KMAI evening classes will be cancelled. Also, listen to radio stations WWGZ (FM 103) 664-8555, or WMPC (AM 1230) 664-6211. If the KMAI office is closed, a message will be left on the answering machine.
At the KMAI, regular attendance is strongly encouraged. Attendance is recorded at every class. Students should attend at least 2 classes per week, preferrably 3 classes per week. Attendance should increase as the student moves up in rank. Students are requested to call if they will miss more than a week due to unforeseen circumstances, such as an extended illness. There is a sign-out board at the back entrance on which students are encouraged to make note of planned absences, such as vacations. Students absent in excess of one week without contacting the school, will be contacted by an instructor.
